Alien Earth Metamorphosis Review

 Overview

Alien Earth takes it's sweet time setting up its story. Episode 3 is another slower more story focused episode, with hardly any Alien action at all. However the stakes that episode 3 sets, are very high.

NOTE: "Execution" section is being skipped as is the Soundtrack score.

Plot

Alien Earth's 3rd episode starts off with Wendy chasing down the Xenomorph. We see more of the Lost Boys, Wendy, Joe, Kirsh and Boy Kavilier. The episode is light on action but heavy on story setup. Kirsh analyzes the captive specimens after Boy Kavilier's science team captures them, Joe survives and is part of some strange medical experiment, and Morrow is up to suspicious activities. Alien Earth episode 3 is clearly gearing up for something big.
Boy Kavilier and Kirsh examine a Xenomorph egg.
Although we don't get to see what the episode is gearing up for, the final twist is a good one, and increases the anticipation for episode 4.

Characters

Episode 3 has an absolute ton of character development. We see much more of each character, aside from Joe and only a small amount of Wendy. The character development of Morrow and Kirsh, along with some of the Lost Boys is also very interesting. In this episode we get a much clearer picture of each character's agenda.
Wendy rescues Joe
We also get a clearer picture of the power of the Hybrids. Wendy does something that demonstrates the Synths pure strength. Morrow also is seen doing classic Weyland-Utani things, as literally every W-U representative does in all the movies. Morrow exploits some of the hybrids to try and get his way into Prodigy, and it makes you wonder what he is planning. Wendy also seems to be able to hear the Xenomorph in some form as Ash does in the first Movie. This is also a interesting development in the plot of Alien Earth.

Verdict

Metamorphosis is a much slower episode that sets extremely high stakes for future episodes. Basically this episode is a slow walk before Episode 4 can break into a sprint.

Plot: 90

The most story driven episode yet.

Acting: 90

Once again, another great performance from the stars of Alien Earth.

Execution: 80

Episode 3 is executed rather well.

Looks: 80

Aside from a obviously fake Xenomorph, The special effects and the overall look of the show are still great.

Overall: 80 🌠

Alien Earth Episode 3 is a much slower, but still great episode.

A Minecraft movie review

Overview A Minecraft movie should be retitled to "A MemeCraft Movie." The movie is severely damaged by its generic and uninspired plot, ridiculous acting, boring characters, and basically is just one big internet meme. And to make matters worse, the visual effects don't look as good as they should. Plot A Minecraft Movie suffers from a bland traditional action movie plot that feels incredibly rushed along. The plot follows Steve as he goes to a mine, finds an "orb" and goes to the overworld where an evil Piglin witch is trying to use it to destroy the overworld and Steve has to stop it with help from a bunch of forgettable characters from the real world. Before everything "Withers and Dies" The whole thing is paper thin. The Piglins All of the plot is predictable and so ridiculously rushed it's hard to tell what's going on. First there's one fight and then in 10 minutes Steve is running from a massive Piglin "Hog" with almost ...

Secret Level: Unreal Tournament: XAN episode review.

Pre-Opinion As someone who has never played Unreal Tournament (I was always a Quake guy.) This was still the coolest looking episode. Out of all the games in Secret Level I've only ever played Mega Man and DnD. But I went with UT first and I was not disappointed. Plot The episode begins with a Liandri corporation mining group booting up a Mech team. One green robot fails its startup process and must reboot. A nearby miner starts whacking the green robot with a wrench. This damages the robot and sort of unlocks his free will. Over time we see the green robot (Xan) Witness the Liandri corporation miners kill and damage the other robots. And Xan survives each workday. Until one day he decides to take action. Xan attacks the miner holding the controls for all the other robots and they fight back. The Arena of the Unreal Tournament. Xan and his mechanical allies destroy the mining outpost but are captured shortly after. We then see that Xan copied the robot control code and is ...
