Jurassic Park Franchise Review (Books included!)

Ahh... Jurassic Park. one of the first PG-13 movies I've ever watched. let's see how they stack up to each other and the Michael Crichton novels!

8: The Lost World (1997)

Lost World to me is barely the weakest of the franchise (But still really good.) I read the book after I watched it and felt like it was missing something. (The movie) It's still an enjoyable movie but it lacks the jump scares of park and park 3. It has an... strange ending... that kind of makes it nosedive. the middle of the film where of course everything goes wrong. Overall, it is a B+ in the franchise. Score: 8.7/10⭐

7: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)

Now this is a weird movie. But it somehow turns out better than I had imagined. Fallen Kingdom feels like a cobbled-up prequel to Dominion. To longtime park fans you may think: "Aw a mystery?! I want dino food!" Um... no. JW2 is a VERY story driven movie featuring a very strange story revolving around Isla Nublar, Legendary Velociraptor Blue and [SPOILER ALERT!!!] a... Clone Child?! it seems like Universal was thinking "Get It out there! I don't CARE if it stinks! we need a lead into Dominion!" eh... don't get me wrong though it's still worth watching. Score 8.75/10⭐ (oooh...a half point...😂)

6: Jurassic World: Dominion (2022)

Dominion is pretty good. It is a tribute to the OG Park even bringing back Grant, Ellie, Malcom and Dodgson. (Dodgson! we got Dodgson here!) Combining them with Owen and Clair is a master stroke. Dominion is a great story and action combo that can live up to the franchises standards. Score 9/10⭐

5: Jurassic Park III (2001)

One of the Better films. III is a little... off on the story. Is kind of meh. but however, what it lacks in story (which is a lot.) it makes up for in effects and acting. Real quick did anyone think how they could hear a phone from INSIDE the Spinosaurus's stomach!? Other than an odd story this is a quality JP film. Score 9.3/10⭐

4: Jurassic Park (Novel)

Where it all started. This is one of the better books I've read! Lost World is the best novel, but this is still AMAZING. The story is much different for those of you who think that "Oh it's the same thing except it takes longer." NO. JP is a phenomenal Thriller/Action novel that is kind of like half-life in the way it combines Science for interesting scenes and phenomenal action sequences! Score: 9.6/10⭐

3: Jurassic Park (1993)

The first film is the best Park movie. Easily. With great acting, writing, and storytelling (Not to mention action and scares!) Park is a MASTERPEICE.  An ageless classic Jurassic Park is a phenomenal Motion picture with 3 (yes 3.) Oscars to its name! It won every single Oscar it could. The special effects were ahead of their time and Jurassic Park to this day remains a Legend. 9.8/10⭐

2: The Lost World (Novel)

Wow. one of the all-time best books I've read. The Lost World succeeds where the movie fails. The story, action, and writing are WAY better than the B+ film. The book is shocking, thrilling and overall, a work of art. It's not for the faint of heart however with gross descriptions of dinosaurs mauling people and LOTS of language. overall, this novel starring the presumed dead Ian Malcom is a Must-read for fans. Score 9.95/10⭐ (oooh... more half points...😅)

1: Jurassic World (2015)

The best film in the franchise is Jurassic World. World is my favorite because of 3 things. 1: The Characters and acting are awesome. 2: Uh... the effects are great and 3: Story is A+.
I enjoy the idea of trainable Velociraptors and how this introduces the Hybrid creatures. The Velociraptors and the T-Rex are the good guys this time around and there is a nice little nostalgia scene where two boys find the original Jurassic Park. There are some off elements to the story... ahem: "We need a field test for the Raptors!" (More like failed test.) but overall, JW is the top of the heap and earns itself a: 10/10🌟 Score.

Final Opinion:

Jurassic Park has its ups and downs. but it remains an all-time great. the books and movies are both phenomenal and if you've never heard of Jurassic Park before: Have you been living under a rock since 1993? Great franchise but JUST short of a 10.

Franchise Score: 9.8/10⭐

Secret Level: Unreal Tournament: XAN episode review.

Pre-Opinion As someone who has never played Unreal Tournament (I was always a Quake guy.) This was still the coolest looking episode. Out of all the games in Secret Level I've only ever played Mega Man and DnD. But I went with UT first and I was not disappointed. Plot The episode begins with a Liandri corporation mining group booting up a Mech team. One green robot fails its startup process and must reboot. A nearby miner starts whacking the green robot with a wrench. This damages the robot and sort of unlocks his free will. Over time we see the green robot (Xan) Witness the Liandri corporation miners kill and damage the other robots. And Xan survives each workday. Until one day he decides to take action. Xan attacks the miner holding the controls for all the other robots and they fight back. The Arena of the Unreal Tournament. Xan and his mechanical allies destroy the mining outpost but are captured shortly after. We then see that Xan copied the robot control code and is ...

A Minecraft movie review

Overview A Minecraft movie should be retitled to "A MemeCraft Movie." The movie is severely damaged by its generic and uninspired plot, ridiculous acting, boring characters, and basically is just one big internet meme. And to make matters worse, the visual effects don't look as good as they should. Plot A Minecraft Movie suffers from a bland traditional action movie plot that feels incredibly rushed along. The plot follows Steve as he goes to a mine, finds an "orb" and goes to the overworld where an evil Piglin witch is trying to use it to destroy the overworld and Steve has to stop it with help from a bunch of forgettable characters from the real world. Before everything "Withers and Dies" The whole thing is paper thin. The Piglins All of the plot is predictable and so ridiculously rushed it's hard to tell what's going on. First there's one fight and then in 10 minutes Steve is running from a massive Piglin "Hog" with almost ...

Vampire Survivors Video Game Review.

Pre-Opinion Game's cover. When I first saw this game, I saw someone playing it on Xbox game pass. I though... "All you do is move. That looks like a very meh game." But when I saw a friend playing it on Steam Deck, I had a second thought. I was getting bored of Halo and already beat Half-Life, so I was looking for something to play. This was on game pass, so I gave it a shot. NOTE: Plot section is being left out. There isn't really any plot. Soundtrack Oh, the soundtrack.... it's really good. In its Steam trailer a reviewer says it's like popping bubble wrap to sick beats. This is pretty true. My favorite tracks are probably the Among Us ones. I really like the themes for the adventure levels and the early stages. I actually listened to the Among Us Polus Replica theme while writing this. The themes are all retro like going back to games like Castlevania (which influences this game A LOT.) But others are a bit more modern (Emergency Meeting) This soundtrack ...
